I started reading blogs a few years ago. It started with a few that had been mentioned by friends. These are well-known blogs now, although they were just starting to really take off when I “discovered” them. I still read and enjoy them. You’ve probably heard of them but just in case you’ve somehow missed out, the three blogs I first remember reading are:
I currently have 229 blogs on my Google Reader. No, I don’t read them all every day. I have them in categories, including one I named “First Priority”. These are the blogs I read regularly and I thought I’d share three of them with you.
I’ve been reading Patty’s blog for quite some time. We “met” on the Yahoo Group, French Chic and I’ve enjoyed keeping up with her and her lovely family via her thought-provoking blog. Today she wrote a post that is well worth your time to read if you’ve ever struggled with the concepts of prosperity and simple living. I encourage you to read “The Peace of Simplicity”.
I can’t recall how I first stumbled upon Cherie’s blog but I immediately felt a kinship with her. She describes herself as a “Zen Quaker Red Letter Christian” and her blog reflects that. Reading her posts often feels like a quiet moment of meditation. You can feel the peacefulness of her soul through her writing. She and her husband have a passion for the people of Haiti and she writes eloquently of the plight of the Haitians. Read “Lessons Learned” which she wrote following a trip to Haiti last year.
And of course I have to mention my daughter’s blog. Originally named The Retro Housewife, it started out as a blog about homemaking, as she shared her life as a new bride. Gradually, she became more and more involved in the environmental movement and the focus of her blog shifted, hence the name change. She still shares recipes and such, but primarily it chronicles her efforts to “go green”. She also reviews eco-friendly products and does give-aways, including the current one for a Kids Konserve Snak Pak. Take a peek and you’re likely to learn something. I know I always do.
So, go check out these great blogs and tell them I sent you. And if you have a favorite blog you think I’d enjoy (yours or someone else’s), leave me a comment and I’ll check it out.
Thanks for the link mom!! 🙂
You're welcome. 🙂
Deanna, I'm so honored to have my blog mentioned by you! And you said such nice things about me. Thank you so much! You're one of the people I keep in mind when I write blog entries as you're such a great writer and I want my writing to be of good caliber as well. Of course, I love all three of your blogs and have them in my google reader under "Daily Reading."
Cherie: What a nice compliment. Thank you. 🙂
