What a lovely day I’ve had so far. Lisa, Kadi (Chris’ girlfriend) and Addie (Kadi’s sister) came over to watch “Midnight in Paris” with me this afternoon. Addie had to leave early for a wedding but Lisa, Kadi and I enjoyed every minute. I made some homemade banana ice cream and even opened a bottle of champagne which I had in the refrigerator (we never got around to opening it on our anniversary weekend in the city).
I started the day with a toasted baguette and cafe´au lait… after my usual Earl Grey tea. I’ve decided to pretty much avoid Facebook on Fridays so I spent the morning cleaning house. Not exactly fun but rewarding in its own way.
I had planned to cook a nice dinner for David this evening but he had to go pick up an employee about 80 miles from here. After I took Lisa home I just picked up a burger for myself (yeah, I know…) and David will do the same. Hopefully he’ll make it home in time for us to go out later tonight and catch some live music at our favorite dive bar here in town. There’s nothing particularly French about that unless you count the Pinot Noir I’ll most likely enjoy there. Except it’s probably from California. 😉
I think we’ll have to institute a regular girls movie afternoon around here. Any movie suggestions? By the way, if you haven’t seen Midnight in Paris, I highly recommend it. If you can watch the opening scene in the clip at the beginning of this post and not want to go to Paris, well, I’m baffled. Simply baffled.
Bonsoir, mes amis.
