I do…

April 29, 2011 By Deanna Piercy 3 Comments

Call me a hopeless romantic but I love a good wedding. It’s been nearly 30 years since I got up in the wee hours of the morning to watch this:

As a new bride myself I was totally caught up in the excitement of the royal wedding of Charles and Diana.

A few months later I watched General Hospital’s favorite couple, Luke and Laura, tie the knot:

These days I’m not quite as obsessed with weddings so I didn’t get up early to watch William and Kate’s wedding. I did, however, turn on the television in time for the first kiss:

Wasn’t that sweet? I do hope they will enjoy a long and happy marriage.

It’s been almost 30 years since this was taken:

We may not be royalty but it’s been a fairytale romance.

You are hopeless. A hopeless romantic, that is. I confess, I did not get up to watch Princess Di get married and I probably didn't even know Luke & Laura tied the knot. But even I got a little swept up in the romance around Princess Kate & Prince William (Can we call her Princess Kate?). And I LOVED the dress! But I loved the Princess of Monaco, too – and the dress was a tribute to her, my favorite real-life princess.

And it will be 31 years this June for us. 😉

Great picture of the groom and his lovely bride. In a world of quickie divorce, it's nice to see couples who continue the romance for decades. My husband and I are still newly-weds at 23 years.
