I love doing theme menus once in awhile to break up the monotony. This week we are going to focus on reader recipes which have been shared with me as guest posts.

Menu Monday – Guest Post Recipes
Did you know I used to have a blog called Dee’s Kitchen? I shared my recipes and also hosted guest posts many Fridays. I rolled all of those posts over to this blog when I started it. However, they aren’t formatted properly and many don’t have photos. One of these days I’ll fix them. Maybe. But in the meantime there’s no reason not to share the yummy goodness of some of those guest post recipes.
I’ve linked to a guest post recipe each day. Keep in mind that there may not be a photo and the formatting is likely to be rather wonky. I also haven’t checked to see if there are broken links.
Still, these are some really tasty recipes and I’m certain you’ll find a few to try.
Monday
Let’s start out with a vegan recipe for Meatless Monday.
- Warm Lentil Salad
- mixed greens
Tuesday
This casserole recipe was created by one of my cousins. Click on it to read more about the name of the recipe.
- Three Sisters Casserole
- tossed green salad
Wednesday
I know some people think of soup as just a cold weather meal but I love soup year round!
- Southwestern Chicken and Vegetable Soup
- cornbread
Thursday
This next recipe comes from a blogging friend who lives in England!
- Bubble and Squeak

Friday
Y’all know how much I love New Orleans dishes, right? Yum!

Saturday
We usually have some sort of project going on Saturdays so it’s a good time for a simple meal.
- Hawaiian Ham and Cheese
- fresh fruit salad
Sunday
I don’t often cook a big meal on Sundays but sometimes a special meal just sounds like a good thing to do.
- Chicken in Mustard Cream Sauce with Squash Casserole

Wow, everything sounds yummy! Can not wait to check them out. I love adding new ideas to our menu. Sometimes I feel like we get stuck in a rut of the same meals, over and over. I love checking out other menu plans to get new ideas! Thanks for the post and have a blessed week!

You’re absolutely right about the menu rut. I had such fun with the 1950s menu a few weeks ago that I’m planning to do more “theme” menus in the future. This coming week is going to be salads so be sure to watch for that.

Fun idea, and some of those sound really tasty! I hope your week works out so you can follow your menu this week.
Here’s my menu… Well, what there is of it…
Monday: I didn’t end up making the roast potatoes and parsnips with veggies that I’d planned for Sunday, so they became Monday’s dinner instead.
Tuesday: Leftovers from Monday’s dinner.
Wednesday: Late birthday dinner for hubby of his choice of take-away (because that’s what he wants to do for his birthday).
Thursday: We’re having a meal out with friends around lunch time, so I’ll probably just make sandwiches in the evening.
I haven’t decided about Friday through Sunday yet.

Sorry for the late reply. We’ve been on vacation this week so I’m in catch-up mode today! Hope your hubby’s birthday dinner was nice. Wish him a belated happy birthday for me, please!

It was, and will do. 🙂
