I’m writing this week’s Menu Plan Monday on Sunday night, looking at the week ahead. Life is always subject to change but it appears as though we might actually get to eat most of our dinners at home this week. What a switch from recent weeks!
Dee’s Menu
Monday
It’s Labor Day and David is off work. He does need to go to the office for an hour or two but we are going to make time to go see a movie. It’s also a good day for grilling.
- grilled chicken sausages on hot dog buns
- homemade potato salad
- baked beans
- fresh fruit
Tuesday
Taco Tuesday!
- lentil tacos
- Mexican rice
- chips and salsa
Wednesday
I’ve yet to make that crockpot roast dinner I’ve been mentioning but I’m trying again.
- roast, potatoes, carrots in crockpot
- tossed green salad
Thursday
- Leek, Potato and Corn Chowder
- French bread
Friday
At home date night!
- Pork Loin in Cognac Sauce
- mashed potatoes
- steamed vegetables
- tossed green salad
Saturday
We’ll likely go out to listen to live music at the local Italian restaurant so we’ll eat dinner there.
Sunday
You know the drill. Lunch at our favorite Mexican restaurant and save half for dinner.

That’s great that you’ll “hopefully” get a week where you get to both be at home most evenings. I hope it works out that way for you.
I don’t have much of a menu again. Yesterday (Monday) we had Chinese food. Hubby has some leftovers to have today (Tuesday) after roleplaying, but I don’t, so I’ll just grab something quick and easy to make after the game (I haven’t actually decided what yet). Wednesday we’re hoping to go try out the cafe that’s below the front of our building (we’ve lived here now for like a year and a half, and keep saying we’ll try it, so we’re determined to actually do so) and it depends what we have there to whether we’ll bother cooking dinner. If the cooler temperatures that have returned stay, I’m hoping to actually get to that veggie roast I’ve been wanting to make, but it depends on the weather to when I’ll be trying to do that. Other than that, I haven’t made any menu plans.
Now I’m craving Chinese food – ha! I hope you enjoy the cafe. 🙂
