I’m so excited! Yesterday we picked up our brand new 2010 Toyota Prius. In 28 years of marriage, this is only our second brand new vehicle. We usually buy program cars with low mileage but this time we decided to go with the new model.
We had previously looked at the Honda Insight which is also a hybrid but ultimately decided to go with the Prius. I’m pretty stoked about getting 50 mpg instead of the average of 16 mpg we got in our Suburban. Now I can go to “green conferences” with my daughter and not hide my car a couple of blocks away. 😉
Bye, bye.
You’ve been a good vehicle
but it’s time for someone else to enjoy you.

yay! I'm very jealous but some day we will have a hybrid. Justin has gotten 46 MPG out of our car and always gets 35-40 MPG now after changing how he drives. So I feel we can hold off until we need to replace the car. Of course I wonder if he drove a hybrid the way he drives our car how good of gas mileage he could get.
Can't wait until Friday when I get to ride in it. I'm happy there will be another hybrid in town. 🙂

I am sure you will love it. Our daughter Melissa has the honda hybrid and loves the milage and the ride. She recently got 58 mpg on a trip to Burlington VT

Congrats Deanna! I'm very jealous, but so excited for you! : ) I have about 3 years before Josh's car is paid off and I can buy one. I am hoping for a Honda Civic(hybrid or non hybrid). Anyway, Have fun with your new ride! Don't go too wild! ; )

Chris has a Honda Civic and has been really happy with it. Hondas are good vehicles, too.

Congratulations! Pretty car. One day, when my Honda Pilot dies, I want a hybrid. I hope by then that all cars get such great mileage.

Cherie: I would love to see all cars make huge strides in terms of better gas mileage.
