A week or so ago I offered to *host* Flat Stanley for the son of a Facebook friend. I’ve done this before and I think it’s fun and a neat project for kids. This particular teacher is only requesting postcards from each host location and not the usual photographs to go along with them. She probably figures this will make it easier to find people willing to host. However, I couldn’t resist taking some photos anyway…just in case.
I couldn’t figure out why Stanley came in such a large box until I opened it and found all this:
Jennifer, my Facebook friend, was so thrilled that I had offered to do this for her son that she sent these wonderful gifts. She’s one of my “green” friends and obviously knows me well. A reusable bag from Whole Foods, Burt’s Bees body wash and the most deliciously scented soaps you can imagine! The card is hand made from part of a Whole Foods grocery bag. I was overwhelmed. Thank you, Jennifer!
So, this morning I took Stanley out to meet my chickens:
And since Jennifer is another “tree hugger” I thought she’d like this shot:
As I was folding the bag that the soaps were in I noticed this on the back:
I laughed when I read this. Very clever, Jennifer! As you might guess, she reads my other blog, The Well-Groomed Hippie.

Betty, I took a look at your blog and am now following. You say you aspire to be a crazy cat lady. Two or maybe even three of our cats look like they may present us with kittens soon. It's a long and stupid story but I think I already own the title of "Crazy Cat Lady".
