Nurture My Body

October 1, 2011 By Deanna Piercy Leave a Comment

Are you looking for a skincare company that makes quality, organic, Cruelty-Free products? Would you prefer smaller, private company over one of the big name, faceless corporations? How about a company with fantastic, personal service and a commitment to the protecting the environment? Yes? Well, this is your lucky day.

Several years ago I *met* a lovely woman named Patty on the French Chic Yahoo group. She was just starting to develop her products and offered samples for some of us to try. I took her up on her offer and LOVED them. I’d like to say I’ve been using them ever since but I never seemed to get around to ordering before I’d run out and then I’d pick up something at the drugstore instead. Hey, just being honest here. But not long ago I decided to place another order.

One of the things I really appreciate is that Nurture My Body products are packaged in gorgeous blue glass containers. I’m trying diligently to reduce unnecessary plastic in my life so this is a real plus in my book. Besides, the pretty containers look nice on the bathroom counter so they don’t have to be hidden away.

Of course, the really important thing is the quality of the ingredients. The products contain certified organic ingredients, as well as some wildcrafted ingredients. They are made in small batches and are not tested on animals. They also fully disclose all ingredients.

As if that weren’t enough, Patty and her husband, Rich are extremely nice folks who honestly enjoy having a relationship with their customers. These days, I’m looking to make most of my purchases from smaller, more personal companies and local businesses instead of “big box stores” and Nurture My Body fits my criteria.

I took some pictures from my order and thought I’d share them here. Even their packaging shows how much care they put into their business.
This is after opening the box. Notice the sprig of lavender under the label.
That’s from their own farm.
Under the gold tissue paper (which I carefully put away to reuse).
How’s that for personal attention?

The packing “peanuts” are the eco-friendly version.
The bubble wrap is necessary to protect the glass but reusable.

That’s a set of samples in the blue bag on the left.
The little piece of gold paper stuck on the jar to the right
has a Pearl S. Buck quote on it.

These are the products I chose for my sample/travel size set.
That’s a Rachel Carson quote there.

I felt like I was opening a birthday present from dear friends. Tell me you get that feeling at Walmart. Ha! Obviously, quality products like these are more expensive than mass-produced items picked up at your local Walgreen’s but I’ve seen department store brands which are WAY more and usually contain all sorts of chemicals and unpronounceable ingredients. If you are looking for natural/organic products from a company who cares, you really should give Nurture My Body a try. In addition to skincare products, they also have products for the hair, body, pregnancy skin care and babies.

*I wrote this company review solely in the interest of sharing and received no compensation.
