Since my internet was down yesterday I need two posts today in order to keep up. It’s 10:15 p.m. as I begin this post and David is already asleep. It’s been a long and exhausting week for him. Since my computer is in our bedroom I’m going to keep this fairly short so my typing doesn’t disturb him. Besides, I am woefully sleep-deprived myself and an early night would be a good plan for me, too.
I thought I’d share some sources of inspiration for this season and hopefully you will have some to share with me in the comments.
First up, some quotes:
“Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns.” ~ George Eliot
“There is a harmony in autumn, and a lustre in its sky, which through the summer is not heard or seen, as if it could not be, as if it had not been!” ~ Percy Bysshe Shelley
“Then summer fades and passed and October comes. We’ll smell smoke then, and feel an unexpected sharpness, a thrill of nervousness, swift elation, a sense of sadness and departure.” ~Thomas Wolfe
“Everyone must take time to sit and watch the leaves turn.” ~ Elizabeth Lawrence
Okay, I give in. I’m about to fall asleep. After I added the quotes I started looking up fall ideas on Pinterest and if you’ve been there you’ll understand. It’s like a benevolent, beckoning lake of awesomeness which you wade into gently, planning to splash about for “just a few minutes”. But before you know it you’ve wandered into an area of quicksand and it’s all over but the pinning.
If you’re on Pinterest, would you leave me the link to your page in the comments so I can follow you? And if you run across any really good boards with fabulous fall ideas, please pass them along. Here’s the link to mine if you’d like to take a look or follow me. And now I must go to bed. Nite, nite!
