I did my Instacart shopping this past Friday and I did a gigantic two week Aldi haul again this time. I gulped when I saw the total. It wasn’t so much the groceries, although that was high enough.
By the time you add sales tax, delivery fee, service fee and a 20% tip the grand total was pretty high. But I reminded myself that it was two weeks’ worth and the 20% tip was well worth it. The delivery person I had this time was absolutely wonderful. He sent me a message as he started shopping to introduce himself and let me know he would be wearing a mask and gloves as he shopped for me. We stayed in contact as he shopped as there were a few items out of stock and he offered substitutions.
I was parked across the street from my daughter’s house in order to leave the driveway free for him to drop off the groceries on her porch. He called to let me know when he was done. I told him I was across the street and rolled down my window to wave. He had already unloaded all the bags but asked if I’d like him to come put them in my car. I declined but I thought that was so very sweet of him.

We are trying for every two weeks ago but we try and eat a salad everyday and it doesn’t last long. Our CSA starts next Monday so that should help alot.
Deanna Piercy says
I do wish we had a CSA here. We have always eaten salad with nearly every dinner so I do miss that. We can usually get a week’s worth and then the second week we do fresh coleslaw and just more veggies. But now that it’s almost summer I think I’ll go back to once a week because of the fresh produce issue.

That’s quite a haul, so I can see why you were exhausted by the time it was all put away. Glad you’re good for a couple of weeks again now though, and that you had a good experience with the guy doing your shopping.
Deanna Piercy says
It’s interesting to think how I used to take grocery shopping for granted.
Tori says
Makes you really think about the way you do things, and what you could or might want to do differently, doesn’t it?
