Yesterday I picked up my daughter at 8:30 a.m. (yeah, you read that right – A.M.!) and we headed to the state capitol for a rally. It was interesting and a lot of fun. Plus, we got to *meet* some people we had previously only known via Facebook. I’ll post pictures and more about the rally on The Well-Groomed Hippie, probably tomorrow. Lisa and I then had a late lunch at Sage, one of our favorite restaurants. We drove home through Norman so we could stop at Dodson’s, a health food store, and Native Roots, which specializes in “Made in Oklahoma” products. She and I both love places like those and we enjoyed our time together. I got home around 5:45 and then had to leave an hour later for choir rehearsal. It was a long, tiring day but a good one.
Today I’m going to the city for the second day in a row. This time I am going with my parents. My mom has been suffering with excruciating back pain which has had her flat on her back since before Christmas. She has an appointment with a neurosurgeon this afternoon. My dad was planning to drive her himself and still thinks he is, but he has serious health issues and I’m afraid he might be too tired on the drive home. I’m going along “to keep them company” but am going to try to talk him into letting me drive home.
David has put together a team of volunteer firefighters for a Red Cross “office olympics” fund raiser tonight. I’m hoping I’ll be back in time to attend, so this is going to be another long day for me. But tomorrow is Friday and “God willing and the creek don’t rise”, I’m going to do a couple of things I’ve been wanting to do just for me. I’ve got a Netflix movie that has been here over 3 weeks and I’d like to bake some bread. I know, lofty goals. 😉 Perhaps I’ll even have time to write posts on all three of my blogs. 🙂
