David and I have been invited to a special dinner tomorrow night in Dallas. If I understand correctly, this is being hosted by the company that David buys their company fuel from. I think they are hoping that he will talk the rest of the company into using their services so I suppose you could call this one of those *wining and dining* things.
I wasn’t especially excited when he first mentioned it because I’m thinking trucking=bbq place with peanut shells on the floor. Was I ever surprised to discover that this dinner is being hosted at Abacus, a 5-star restaurant presumably with no peanut shells. Even better, they have reserved the Chef’s table experience for us which will include glimpses of the chefs doing their thing and NINE tasting courses. I’m not certain if that includes the wine pairings or not. In any case, I am truly looking forward to it.
On Saturday there is some sort of truck show that David will be going to, at least for awhile, while I will be diligently catching up on my sleep/reading/decorating shows back at the hotel. My birthday is Monday so we decided to make a weekend out of it and will stay there both Friday and Saturday nights.
We are hoping to find a place to hear live music Saturday night but haven’t made any definite plans. If anyone has any suggestions for a music venue and/or restaurant for Saturday night, let me know. Just no peanut shells, please.

Depends on where you will be staying in Dallas. I know some places out on 75 by Richardson and Plano…but not a lot IN the like downtown area….
