Have you ever seen this symbol before? If not, what would you think it meant if you saw it light up on your car dashboard?
I’m not sure I’d have ever figured it out but when I showed it to David, he immediately knew it meant “low tire pressure”. How? Why? Does that really look like a tire to you? Who designs these things? Oh, I know. A man. It would have to be. Apparently 46% of people shown this symbol couldn’t figure out that it is meant to be a tire. David’s guess is that most of them are probably women. Fair enough. So why not design something that women will recognize? Who looks at a tire from the front? It should be drawn from the side and look like a flat tire. Yet another example of a mistake that could have been avoided if only I had been consulted.
I gotta tell ya … now, don't think too ill of me … but if I saw that as a decal on a back window of a car, I'd actually think it was a symbol for a band with a pornographic name. What a BAD symbol! It's not comprehensible at all!
I would have had no idea what it meant either. A very confusing symbol.
It's so obvious! (snicker) Yet another little dashboard light for me to ignore. My "check engine" light has been on for about 40K miles. I admit when it first came on I had a mechanic run a diagnostic. Turned out there was nothing wrong with the engine, it was just ratty data triggering the warning light. So now it just glows "hello" every time I drive the car.

Hey! I actually knew what it means! It went off in my car the other day it rained….the ONE time it rained all summer, and I knew exactly I didn't have traction..so it means SLOW-DOWN-STUPID to me!

at first i thot it looked like a warning sign to men that goes like "beware of your beer belly. exercise now!" or something like that. it looked like a bloated tummy with both arms around it – a sign of obesity hence the call for men to begin exercising! hahaha..
