I’m excited to be sharing this recipe with you. When I was planning a post for Life with Dee I knew I had to make something using Earl Grey tea!
Earl Grey is a black tea with citrus bergamot oil. It’s a very fragrant tea that has been around since at least the 1880’s. It’s sometimes mixed with lavender.
While it’s perfect with just some milk and sugar, tea lattes have been gaining popularity and are a fun twist on a classic. They seem fancy but really they are quite simple to make at home.
Earl Grey Tea Latte
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of strongly-brewed Earl Grey tea
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- optional: splash of vanilla extract
Directions:
- Steam milk, being careful not to let it boil.
- Froth the milk. If you don’t have a milk frother, try this jar method.
- Pour milk slowly into a cup.
- Add sugar and if using, vanilla, and stir carefully.
- Slowly pour in tea.
- Enjoy!
My favorite brand of Earl Grey tea is Choice Organic. It’s organic and Fair Trade and has a wonderful favor. If you end up loving it as much as I do, you can order it by the case on Amazon. And yes, I do this and no, a case doesn’t last me long!
My favorite way to enjoy this is with a warm chocolate chip cookie or a homemade biscuit with butter and jam. Such a perfect treat, especially during the cooler months.
I hope you enjoy this treat. What’s your favorite kind of tea and how do you like to drink it?

Yummy! You know, I was a barista for 7 years and never once made a tea latte. I didn’t even think about doing so!
I’ll have to try this soon!

I have a feeling there will be a lot of tea lattes in my future. 🙂

I ordered this in a Starbucks and was informed that it is called a London Fog 🙂 I don’t know if that is “their” name for it or what but I thought it was appropriate

I’m not sure if Starbucks came up with that name or not but you’re right…it’s a great name.
