Is it just me or does it seem that Easter has sort of sneaked up on us this year? I guess it is a little early. But spring has arrived very early around here, too. We have had a bit of cold snap the past couple of days after unseasonably warm temperatures but it will be back into the 70s tomorrow.
I still have St. Patrick Day clings on our front storm door but later today I hope to switch those out for the Easter clings. In recent years it seems we’ve either been in New Orleans for Easter or very nearly so. I have a really cute set of Easter houses but haven’t had them out for several years. I think I will get them out and do a little arrangement on our antique buffet. If/when I do I’ll share a picture on Instagram.
I’ve been looking at Easter/Spring-themed blog posts, Pins, and such and thought I would share some of my favorites with you.

Holiday meals are fun but can really add up in cost. Take a look at this link for some cost-saving ideas as well as a free printable:

Do you have little ones in your life who would enjoy a little treat? Look at this adorable duckling. Wouldn’t that be a cute addition to an Easter basket?

What is the weather like in your neck of the woods? As I mentioned above, we’ve been unseasonably warm except for a little chill the past couple of days. But I’ve seen several friends on Facebook posting pictures of snow, of all things! Better them than me – ha! No matter the weather, here are some lovely ideas to make home all the sweeter.

I wish I had seen this next one earlier. We don’t have much in the way of craft stores around here but if we did I would be quite tempted to make this darling banner.

Now this next one is something I do have the necessary ingredients for. As a child reading nursery rhymes I had no idea what “hot cross buns” were. I’ve never had them but I think I might have to remedy that. These would be a lovely little treat for Easter morning before church.

We are going to my cousin’s house after church on Easter but if I were cooking the Easter dinner I think this ham recipe would be perfect. How lovely to be able to put it in the crock pot early Sunday morning and come home to the delicious fragrance of maple and ham.

It hasn’t snuck up on me. But that could be because I focus my celebrations on the Equinox, which is always around the same time in March. Or, it could be because I have an Easter themed story coming out on the Saturday, and with that being pre-released in early February, I had a bit more time to get used to the idea of when Easter was. Either way… Around the Equinox I do a Spring themed meditation ritual. But Easter itself is just an excuse to buy and eat extra chocolate to me. And even then I don’t bother about waiting until the day before I start eating it. 😉 I focus more on celebrating that Spring is here at this time of year.
Our weather is managing to be Spring weather sometimes; the rain has slackedned off, and we’ve been able to have the windows open some days. There’s still a lingering chill in the air though… Especially at night. Still, I’ve made the most of the times when the windows could be open, and been enjoying being able to sit at my computer with the sun shining on me, and the ocean breeze wafting in from the open window, while the cries of sea birds mingle with the sigh of the ocean and the swish of passing traffic.
Deanna Piercy says
Ah, the smell of the ocean. Oh, how I miss that! If only someone could bottle that scent.
Tori says
If I could, I would. I’ve seen “sea breeze” air fresheners, but I’ve smelled those… They just don’t get it right. If I ever figure out how to bottle the real thing, I’ll send you a bottle.
Deanna Piercy says
Please do! 🙂
