I’m guessing that if you are reading this blog you have some interest in decluttering. But then again, I am currently reading a blog about knitting and I do not knit. I have no interest in knitting. I am too chubby to look good in bulky knitted items. But, wow! That knitter lady writes one funny blog! As soon as I figure out how all this stuff works, I’ll post a link. Actually, I’ll wait until I attract a following because if you start reading that other blog you might get so involved you will forget to check mine. Heck, I’m enjoying hers so much I have to remind myself that I have my own blog to write.
Anyway, I wanted to tell you about a book I am reading called, “Clear Your Clutter With Feng Shui” by Karen Kingston. I bought this quite awhile ago but I don’t think I ever read it. I am not into Feng Shui or any of that new age-y stuff but this book was recommended by the FlyLady so I bought it. I’ve only read about 30 pages so far but I think it might prove helpful. I’m not sure I buy all that the author says, although I must admit I’m hoping she’s right about how decluttering one’s home can lead to weight loss.
Which leads me to the third part of today’s title: pumping iron. We have turned our son’s old bedroom into what we call our exercise room. We have a very nice treadmill (complete with book holder so I can read and walk) and a weight machine in there, as well as a t.v./VCR/DVD set up for all those exercise tapes/dvds I have purchased. Some have even been unwrapped! I am hoping that if I keep actually using this stuff I will become that svelte person I just know lives inside me. I didn’t have a weight problem until after having kids and going to nursing school. And since that time I have lost significant amounts of weight on a couple of occasions so I have faith that I can do it again. It’s really so disappointing to discover that a shelf full of diet books and an exercise room are not enough. I guess I will actually have to change my eating habits and use that equipment. Darn!
Well, that’s all I have time for right now. It took me at least twelve tries to get this “create a post” site to load properly before I could type this. And now I need to get ready to go meet a friend for lunch, get my hair colored, er, I mean “highlighted”, and then do the dreaded Wally World thing. Catch y’all later!
Aforementioned third son is also so much into Fen-shui that he has to ring bells and cut up negative energy for the direction he is going when he goes out.
Yet the den is greatly encumbered by his weight lifting equipment.
About weight loss: I read in O that the most successful losers keep a food diary. I start today!
