Thank goodness it’s Friday! This has been quite a week and I can’t remember the last time I was so incredibly happy to see Friday arrive. I should vacuum and clean bathrooms and mop the laundry room. But you know what? I’m not doing any of those things today. The bed is made, dishes done, laundry under control and the house is tidy, if not spotless. The rest can wait. Today I am in recovery mode. All the noise, confusion, extra people and disrupted schedules of this week, not to mention lack of sleep, have pushed to the very edge of my comfort level. By the way, did I mention that David called me yesterday morning to tell me that the heating/air guy would be here in 30 minutes? And that he would need to come upstairs? And into my closet?! I’ve learned (the hard way!) to listen to my body and today it’s telling me that I need to take a deep breath and recover my equilibrium.
I have a couple of have-to-do items to take care of such as placing orders with Amway, Amazon and Everyday Minerals. I need to schedule a board meeting for next week and send out an email to the board members. I’ve already made the two phone calls I needed to attend to. Otherwise, I’m going to spend the day enjoying the quiet and doing some things that will bring me joy and satisfaction. I’m going to catch up on all the French-themed blogs I’ve been saving up all week. I’m going to carve the pumpkin I bought earlier this week. I’m going to bake an apple pie. I’m going to rearrange some flowers and cut a few pieces of ivy for the kitchen windowsill. I might do a bit of autumn decorating. I’m definitely going to take a 30 minute *power nap* because David wants to go out tonight and I’m pretty certain he’d like me to stay awake.
So, what are you doing today? What do you do when you need to restore your sanity? Any fun plans for the weekend?

Today, Debi and I went to Atticus' ring ceremony at his school. I got to really try out my new camera for the first time. When Debi and I got home, well, nudge-nudge, wink wink. It's one advantage of working nights together for eighteen years.
I've put off the bills till tomorrow. I've taken care of laundry that was no-can-wait. Then, I uploaded and named all the files from the ring ceremony.
My Friday treat for myself will be a noontime jog to the levee and back. Then, I MUST color my hair. If you see these pictures I'm in today, you will definitely understand! Happy Friday!

LOL! "Afternoon Delight" – or was it still morning? Hope you enjoyed your run. Oh, btw, it's called "highlighting" your hair. I have mine "highlighted" every 5 weeks. 😉
