I love French films. In fact, that’s part of the reason I finally got glasses. I couldn’t read the subtitles across the room and my meager French is insufficient without that assistance. One of my favorites is Amélie. It is an utterly charming film and one I can watch over and over. I adore the scene below, largely because I relate to the sensual pleasure exhibited. And that creme brûlée looks delicious, doesn’t it?

I love Amelie but if I had to name my favorite French movie it would be the somewhat darker La Femme Nikita, although I enjoy anything with the exquisitely beautiful Emmanuelle Beart.
