For me, there is nothing quite like the thrill of bringing home a box or two of books from the annual library book sale.
For my book-loving readers who will want to know, here is a list of what I bought:
Cookbooks:
- Celebrations on the Bayou – Invitations to Dine in Cotton Country Style
- The Little Gumbo Book
- Fix-It and Forget-It Cookbook (slow cooker recipes)
Audiobooks:
- Creole Belle
- The Light in the Piazza
- Babylon Sisters
The rest:
- Remembrance of Things Past – 2 volume set (Proust)
- Firefly Summer
- Between, Georgia
- The Kitchen House
- Water For Elephants
- The Help
- The Hours
- Fair and Tender Ladies
- 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die
- When Madeline Was Young
- In the Company of Others
- The Jane Austen Book Club
- Tender At The Bone
- Light in August
- The Wednesday Sisters
- The Duchess of Bloomsbury Street
- A Virtuous Woman

I got all of these for $28. I think that’s a bargain, don’t you?

I have Water for Elephants, Jane Austen Book Club and watched the movie The Help. Thumbs up on all three. And yes, it's a great buy, one of the best buys around. I haven't even walked into my libraries in the last two years 🙁

Great Finds! I love the book sales from the library. You can't beat the prices!!! I just picked up 14 books yesterday and could have very easily picked up more but I was riding my bike. Luckily they all fit! 😉

Terri: I've read The Help, as well as seeing the movie, but I read it on my Kindle. I decided it's something I might be inclined to read again and/or want to lend to someone so I bought a copy. I've heard really good things about Water For Elephants so I'm looking forward to reading it.

Catherine: I love library book sales, too. Over the years I've acquired a pretty amazing home library from book sales and used book stores. I love older books with nice bindings and am always on a lookout for those. This time the Proust books were the only ones like that, though. So, what books did you get this time?
