Our May book club selection is the beloved children’s classic, The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame. The best children’s literature is worth reading or re-reading even as an adult. I’m really looking forward to escaping with Mole, Ratty, Badger and Toad this month!

The Wind in the Willows
by Kenneth Grahame
On the idyllic banks of the river, the gentle Mole befriends the adventurous Water Rat and discovers a world of riverside picnics, boat rides, and quiet contentment. But when the impulsive, motorcar-obsessed Toad lands in jail after a wild escapade, and weasels and stoats seize Toad Hall, Mole, Ratty, and the wise old Badger must band together for a daring rescue. Through changing seasons—from spring awakenings to winter adventures—these unlikely friends discover the meaning of home, the value of true friendship, and the importance of looking after one another in Grahame’s lyrical celebration of the English countryside.
Note: Many of us are doing our best to avoid purchasing from Amazon and a number of other large corporations, for a variety of reasons. I recommend checking your local library or purchasing books from local book stores if you have them in your area. If not, Bookshop.org is a great option.
