I’ve been wanting to spend more time listening to classical music and collect some classical vinyl albums. Starting this month I will be choosing a “composer of the month” to focus on and thought I’d share it with you, my dear readers. I decided to select Vivaldi for January.

Vivaldi
Antonio Vivaldi was an Italian composer of Baroque music. He was born in 1678 in Venice, Italy and died in 1741 in Vienna, Austria. In addition to composing, he was also a virtuoso violinist.
Best known for The Four Seasons, Vivaldi was a very prolific composer, including nearly 500 concertos.

If you have Spotify, I have put together a playlist of some of his music:
If, like me you’d like to begin collecting classical albums, here is the one I bought:
And here is a CD I may purchase at some point. I love to sit and listen to vinyl but our stereo also has a CD player that holds 5 CDs. It’s pretty convenient to load it up and have music playing for several hours.
So tell me, do you enjoy classical music? Is it something you’d like to learn more about? I hope this series will be a good way for me to brush up on classical composers and that at least some of my readers will join me in this endeavor.

Hi Dee,
Thank you for providing the Art Appreciation series. I have been a life long reader, but sadly have neglected art and music. You have inspired me increase my knowledge in those areas.
