This is my first Menu Monday post for my new site, Life With Dee! I’m beyond excited about this. Ask my husband – he’s probably tired of hearing about it although he would never admit it. So, here goes:

Monday:
I’m busy, busy today getting this site ready to launch. I also had to make a trip to town to get my drivers license renewed. Nothing like waiting until the last day, along with everyone else in town. Actually, it wasn’t that bad. There were only 3 or 4 people ahead of me and my picture turned out half-way decent. I’d say that’s a plus. So tonight’s dinner will be pretty simple and also use up several items that need to be used.
- salad with fresh blueberries, sliced strawberries, grapes, dried cranberries and poppyseed dressing
- fresh corn on the cob
- fresh green beans cooked with red new potatoes
Tuesday:
Taco Tuesday is always a good idea, right?
- lentil tacos
- tossed green salad
Wednesday:
Piano lessons and church choir rehearsal both start back up today. I’ve moved my piano lesson to 5 p.m. and choir is at 7. My plan is to stay in town in between and use that time to run errands. I think Wednesdays will be slow cooker days. Or “everyone for themselves” days.
- roast, potatoes, carrots and onions in the slow cooker
- salad
Thursday:
- roast beef sandwiches on French bread (will order a fresh loaf from a local restaurant)
- homemade macaroni salad
- frozen French fries
Friday:
I have a partial bag of meatballs in the freezer which I want to use up. I don’t seem to be making much progress in making space in the freezer.
- tossed green salad (first course)
- spaghetti and meatballs
- garlic bread (from leftover French bread)
- homemade chocolate chip cookies
Saturday:
Since it will just be the two of us Friday night and there will definitely be leftover sauce/meatballs, I think I will repurpose the leftovers into a casserole.
- marinara and meatball casserole
- green salad
- leftover garlic bread
Sunday:
We usually go to our favorite Mexican restaurant after church and then save half our meals for dinner. I do my best to avoid cooking on Sundays.
So tell me, what’s cooking at your house this week?
Tori says
I don’t have a menu for this week, because I have another attempt at having the hospital trip to get my other wisdom tooth out, and most of my week depends on what happens with that. Plus, if all goes smoothly with that appointment, I have roleplaying Thursday afternoon, and hubby has roleplaying Thursday evening.
We also want to use up some things we’ve had in the freezer a while; especially since we got a new fridge-freezer last week after our fridge stopped working properly, and are clearing out the old freezer so as to get rid of it (since we don’t need both, and it would be nice not to have to have a freezer in our living room).
So, this week is a “let’s see what’s in the freezer that we can make quickly,” kind of week, which will help with the uncertainty of not knowing what’s happening for the rest of the week until after Wednesday, the lack of time on Thursday, and our desire to clear our freezer.

I am so sorry you are still dealing with tooth issues. Hopefully this will get sorted soon. I keep saying I need to clear out my freezer but somehow that isn’t happening.
Tori says
I’m in pain from being pulled about (despite having taken a painkiller) because the tooth broke when being pulled out, and it took some work to get all the pieces out; not to mention the fact it took four capsules of the anasthetic stuff to numb things enough for the tooth to get pulled in the first place. Also, the only reason I’m home is because I’m stubbourn and insisted I was fine (and since I was able to walk out of there without falling over, they couldn’t stop me). But the work is done… At last!
Until the next issue… *sigh*
Anyway… Sorry you’re not having much luck clearing your freezer. We’re having better luck, I’m glad to say.

That sounds brutal. Hope you feel better soon.
