Valentine’s Day is Tuesday. Do you have special plans? In recent years we have generally opted to eat at home, saving a nice dinner out for a less busy night. Oftentimes I’ll cook filets but I found some adorable heart-shaped cheese ravioli so we’ll have that for our Valentine’s Day dinner. What about you? I’d love to hear your plans for Valentine’s Day as well as your menu for the week.

We never do much for Valentine’s Day, and don’t worry about whether we celebrate it on the day or not. This year we’re celebrating late… We’re taking a rain check until next week when the half term holiday will be over, so there won’t be people with kids everywhere (plus, everyone seems to want to make sure they eat out or order in actually on Valentine’s Day usually, so we figure if we wait until next week the service won’t be so slow). The plan is breakfast at the new French cafe that’s opened nearby, and Chinese ordered in for dinner.
So my menu this week isn’t anything special. Yesterday (Monday) I had the leftover vegetarian chilli I put in the freezer a couple of weeks ago, along with some fresh bread. Today (Tuesday) neither of us feels much like cooking, so I’m probably going to just end up making cheesy fries. Tomorrow I’m making a vegetarian shepherd’s pie. I haven’t figured out any further than that though.

I’d love to hear about the new French cafe after you go. That sounds right up my alley!

I actually immediately thought of you when we noticed it was there, and have every intention of telling you about it.

We usually spend V-day with the kids. At some point during the day I usually make something heart shaped for them. This year it was these wonderful “poptarts” that I found. They were quite yummy. We did all of our surprises this morning. The rest of the day will be pretty busy. MK has Homeschool PE and then a party. JP is at work all day and BB is at school.
Have a blessed day all! Thanks Dee for stopping by!
