It’s hardly worth doing a menu this week as you’ll see when you scroll down!
Dee’s Menu
Monday through Wednesday
David will be on a business trip so I’m not cooking!
Thursday
It would appear that this is the only day I’ll be cooking this week. I do have a 5:30 meeting however, so I’ll do the crockpot meal that didn’t happen last week.
- roast, potatoes, carrots in the crockpot
- salad
Friday
We are going to the city for a belated birthday celebration. Our kids are joining us and we’ll all go out to dinner. Still trying to decide on a restaurant!
Saturday
David and I are staying a second night. We’ll eat in the hotel restaurant. Well, not exactly. USC is playing Alabama and David has already told me he plans to watch the game in the hotel lounge. Fortunately we can order from the hotel restaurant and they’ll deliver it to the lounge so I’ll still get a decent meal.
Sunday
We’ll head home Sunday afternoon. I figure we’ll eat lunch somewhere in the city and just have something light at home for our supper.

I didn’t do half of what I planned to when it came to cooking last week. This is partially because I changed my mind about what I fancied for dinner a couple of times, and partially because it was really hot most of last week (the temperature spent a lot of time around 30C, which is about 92F). It’s cooled down some now, but since it hadn’t yesterday, I already decided I was going to just play it by ear this week, and make my menu plan “whatever I feel like having that it’s not too hot to cook” this week.

Wow! 92 is really hot in your area, isn’t it? And I’m guessing you don’t have air conditioning since that sort of heat isn’t usual. I wouldn’t be cooking in that heat either!

You got it! It rarely gets hotter than low to mid 80s here, and even that doesn’t happen all that often (most of the time the weather is in the 60s or 70s here, with only the odd time when the temperature gets lower or higher than those numbers). You’re also right about the lack of air conditioning… We have a couple of fans, but that’s it. Thankfully, we had decided to invest in a couple of extra fans this year, and had brought them before the heat wave hit.
