I hope my American readers had a nice Thanksgiving. We certainly did. We had the big meal with extended family on Thursday and then I cooked for my kids and parents on Friday. I actually got the quantities right because we had plenty of leftovers for the weekend, ham sandwiches for the guys’ lunches today and all I have left now is some ham, turkey broth and a bit of gravy which will all go in tonight’s soup. Perfect!
We leave for New Orleans on Friday and I’ve got oodles to do this week. We won’t return until the 12th so I really need to have a lot of Christmas preps done before we go. Because of that and since we ate plenty the past few days, our dinners will be quite simple this week. Oh, before I forget, I put my holiday recipes together in “Holiday Recipes” under the header. There will be more to come as soon as I have time.
Monday:
- Potato leek soup with diced leftover ham, gravy and turkey broth
Tuesday:
- grilled cheese sandwiches on homemade wheat bread
- homemade tomato bisque soup
Wednesday:
- loaded baked potatoes
- salad
Thursday:
- black bean burritos
- salad
Friday:
We will be eating dinner in New Orleans!
There won’t be a menu posted next week because I won’t be cooking. Instead, I will be letting those fabulous New Orleans chefs/cooks prepare my meals for me. I will try to post the occasional photo of deliciousness.
