November 2013 Grocery Haul

November 26, 2013 By Deanna Piercy Leave a Comment

Lisa and I did our monthly shopping last Thursday (here’s the link to her grocery haul post). We went to Oklahoma City instead of just Norman so we could hit Whole Foods. It was rather warm when we left town but a cold front came through while in the city and it got COLD! By the time I got home it was nearly 8 p.m. and I hadn’t had dinner. That is why the only picture I took was the one above with everything still in the bags. I was too worn out to arrange everything on the table so you’ll have to use your imagination.

I’ll be picking up my Azure Standard co-op order tomorrow and then I’ll be fully stocked for the apocalypse or whatever lies ahead for the next few weeks. Here is what I bought:

Sprouts:

  • colby jack cheese (3)
  • organic frozen broccoli (2)

  • bleu cheese dressing
  • organic cluster tomatoes
  • organic apples (4)
  • organic red peppers (2)
  • organic bananas
  • organic yams (2)
  • Emergen-C (1 box)
Total: $116.51
Whole Foods:
  • cereal (3 boxes)
  • cookies (1 box)
  • organic chicken broth (3 cartons)
  • organic flour tortillas
  • organic butter (1 pound)
  • diced green chiles (2 cans)
  • organic chocolate syrup
  • course ground black pepper (bulk)
  • tortilla chips
  • organic bbq chips
  • Creole mustard
  • coconut egg nog
  • mint chocolate coconut milk
  • coconut milk creamer (3)
  • sangria jalapeno jelly (made in Oklahoma – tasted it in store – DELISH!)
  • organic ketchup
  • 2 beeswax candles
  • 3 large butterfly boneless pork chops
  • organic chicken breasts
  • organic andouille sausage
  • chipotle cranberry cheddar cheese
  • 3 cheese blend grated (parmesan, asiago, romano)
  • organic slice muenster cheese

  • organic russet potatoes (10 pounds)
  • organic frozen orange juice concentrate
  • organic Earl Grey teabags (3 boxes)
  • organic English Breakfast teabags (1 box)
  • organic colby cheese (2)
  • organic muenster cheese (2)
  • organic pepper cheese (2)
  • pasta
  • mints (large jar)
  • organic milk (2 half gallon cartons)
  • organic half and half
  • organic cream
  • organic flour tortillas
  • organic frozen waffle fries
  • organic candy canes (1 box)
  • Maggie’s Organic socks – tie dyed (1 pair)
Total: $99.72

Azure Standard:

  • organic sugar (25 pounds)
  • organic flour (10 pounds)
  • organic frozen corn (5 pounds)
  • organic frozen peas (5 pounds)
  • organic red enchilada sauce
  • Biokleen dish soap
  • “personal item”
Total: $85.44
Grand Total: $503.85

The total is rather high this month but it includes a turkey, organic socks, candles, extra baking items which should last through the winter, and a few holiday items. If, for some reason, I’m unable to make a shopping trip in December I’ll still be pretty well-stocked for the month other than milk and some fresh produce which I can pick up here in town if need be. Plus, I didn’t do a major October shopping trip so overall I think it evens out.

Have you done your Thanksgiving food shopping yet? I’m so glad I won’t have to brave the crowds this week!
