Lisa and I did our monthly grocery haul in Norman yesterday. My mom was going to go with us but wasn’t feeling well. Hopefully next time! As always, Lisa and I had a nice day together, including a delicious lunch at Tres Cantina. And as always, it was a challenge to get everything put away afterwards. I won’t be doing a big shopping trip next month because David and I are going to New Orleans over Halloween for 10 or 11 days. So I really stocked up this trip (and still had a lot in my pantry and freezer). All I should have to buy between now and our mid-November trip is milk and some fresh produce.
Norman Farmers Market
This was our first time to check out this market. It was a bit picked over by the time we got there and much of the produce was brought in from other states. I did get a few locally grown items but didn’t get receipts.
- quart of Oklahoma honey (just bottled the day before)
- a few tomatoes, including two green which I’ll slice and make into fried green tomatoes
- round zucchini (I tried one last summer and loved it)
- eggplant
Sprouts
They had lots of exceptionally good sales yesterday, including several “buy 1, get 1 free”. I was able to get the bulk of my shopping done there this time.
