IN MY HOME:
REVIEW OF LAST WEEK
We had a hefty dose of winter last week. The sleet started on Wednesday and the guys came home early from work. They worked from home on Thursday because the roads were pretty awful. David went back on Friday (a bit later in the morning) but Chris worked from home one more day. The snow was pretty but very cold and icy. I’m just glad I didn’t have to go anywhere. And I’m really glad I got our grocery order on Tuesday!
I baked cookies for the guys (and me!) on Thursday. I’ll share the recipe later this week.
THIS WEEK
I have four Zoom meetings this week – two on Tuesday and two on Thursday. That means Wednesday is my best option for a grocery order. I actually have plenty for another week but since I need to get my mom’s groceries anyway, I’ll stock up on some sale items and meat for the freezer. I try to keep everything fully stocked, especially during the winter and while experiencing various shortages.
With all the meetings this week, I don’t plan to do anything extra around the house. I’ll just keep up with the usual “home keeping”. Soon enough, it will warm up and I’ll get the urge to spring clean.
WORK
I never have completed my task list for our nonprofit. We have a meeting tomorrow afternoon so I’m going to try to get at least part of it done tomorrow morning.
Blog: In addition to this post I have two more I’d like to get done this week. One is the above-mentioned cookie recipe. That one will be easy and won’t take long. I’m not sure about the other one, yet.
READING
I hope to finish Cozy Minimalist Home, What Falls From the Sky and The Secret this week. I’m reading Joyful just a bit at a time so it will likely take another couple of weeks.
SELF CARE
My heels are a mess. So dry and cracked! I know I should be wearing socks but I just hate having anything on my feet. I going to try to make myself moisturize my feet every morning and put on a pair of socks. But no, I will NOT wear socks to bed. If you have any tips that have worked for you, let me know. I’d like to have them in better shape before sandal weather.
HEALTH & FITNESS
I think the best way for me to get into the treadmill habit is to tie it directly to something else. I’m going to try getting on the treadmill right after lunch and/or dinner. I’ll let you know if that works.
FUN ACTIVITIES
David and I have been watching The Odd Couple series at bedtime the past several weeks. Last night we watched the movie. I’d like for us to watch a movie together each week. Chris and I already watch something together most Thursdays.
Yesterday David and I got to visit with our adorable granddaughter (and her parents, of course). As soon as I walked in the door, Charlotte gave me a huge grin. We haven’t seen her since Christmas and at only 9 months I wasn’t sure how she would react. She was perfect. She sat in my lap and played with my necklace for the longest time. As we were getting ready to leave I was standing, holding her. David stood next to me and she held out her tiny arms to him. He almost melted into a puddle right then and there. He said to her, “What kind of car do you want Grandpa to buy you?”. I have a feeling he’s going to spoil her rotten. 😉
HABIT OF THE WEEK
I want to get more reading done so I’m going to try to get in bed at least half an hour before David comes upstairs and use that time to read.

Awww! That’s adorable about Charlotte. Yep, sounds like she’s going to be one spoiled little lady where Grandpa David is concerned. LOL!
Wish you could send me some of that snow. Everyone’s hogging all the snow. We got an excellent rainstorm with a good wind (or, I was enjoying it until it knocked off our electric and I had to miss a chunk of kareoke) but no snow. Wish some of the people your side of the world could send it over.
I’ve got a mostly quick and easy meals week this week, but here’s my menu:
Monday: avocado on toast.
Tuesday: breakfast wraps.
Wednesday: Pizza.
Thursday: leftover pizza.
Friday: veggie wraps.
Saturday: mushroom soup with bread.
Sunday: leftovers from Saturday.
As for how my week looks…
Monday: looks to be a pretty quiet day besides the usual daily tasks, so a good oppertunity to catch up a little on some reading.
Tuesday: Dad is coming for gaming and dinner, plus my crochet group Zoom call is this week.
Wednesday: I have several Zoom calls (piano lesson, a social call, an “Artists’ Way support group” call, and open mic night) so will be spending most of the afternoon and evening dealing with those.
Thursday: I have some publishing-related tasks to get done, will need to make sure my blog post for Friday gets written (since I won’t have time before that really) and I also have a loom knitting Zoom call.
Friday: I have the Zoom book club I co-facilitate, and I’ll probably have a load of eMails to catch up on by that point so will need to deal with them.
Saturday & Sunday: since I don’t need the beginner knitters class, and don’t have the kit (or a homemade version of it) for the other call, I’m skipping the craft calls this weekend, which means both Saturday and Sunday look to be quiet days (apart from kareoke Saturday night, and a cooking call I like to go to Sunday night) so I’m planning on taking advantage of that to work on some of my craft projects not linked to the ACB while listening to an audiobook. Might throw in some movie or TV show time too… Haven’t had much of that lately.

I actually thought of you when it snowed. I would have been happy to send some of it your way – Ha!
Tori says
Definitely wish you could have. Then we’d have both been happy. LOL!
