We all know that most of us forget all about New Year’s resolutions about half way through January. But it’s still a good idea to have some goals for the year. I like Gretchen Rubin’s idea of a “22 in 2022” list: Make a list of 22 things you’d like to do in 2002 and see how many you can accomplish by the end of the year. They don’t have to be big, life-changing goals, either. Some can simply be fun.

22 in 2022
Here is my list…in no particular order:
- Read 60 books (I turn 60 this year.)
- Send one letter a month (handwritten, “snail mail”)
- Do at least one Duolingo French lesson every day
- Learn the rest of “Let it Be” on piano
- Paint at least one painting
- Declutter and organize laundry room
- Organize my office closets
- Buy a photo album and print photos of baby Charlotte (our granddaughter)
- Put addresses in “analog” address book
- Update our will
- Create my “perfect day” and make it a habit
- Get shingles vaccine
- Finish first draft of my book
- Achieve “inbox zero” around the first of each month
- Watch at least 22 movies with Chris
- Have a tea party with Lisa
- Complete at least 10 courses in MasterClass
- Start a Commonplace Book
- Make master list of small home improvements and do 5
- Create an “Album of Now” (photos of everyday things – idea from Gretchen Rubin)
- Create at least one product for my blog
- Add one new item later
Of course, you can write your list on anything but why not make it pretty? I included space for my Word of the Year (connection) and my Symbol of the Year (butterfly):

I suggest making a couple of copies so you can post them in more than one location. We are more likely to remember our goals if we see them often.

If this sounds like a fun idea to you I’d love to hear some of the things on your list. And feel free to check in with me to see if I’m making progress!

Fun idea, and great list. I hope you manage to check off at least most of those, if not all. I’m steering clear of goal lists this year, so not doing this. But it’s a neat idea for those who want to do it. I did end up picking a word for the year though…

Thanks! I’ll head over to your blog to see what your word is. (I’m assuming you posted about it!)

Yep. For anyone who wants to see and hasn’t yet, it can be found in my post from January 7th. If you’re more interested in craft project and keyboard playing progress, check out my post from January 14th. Better yet, check out both posts. LOL!

What a great idea! I have a list of goals for the year (link: https://stephaniegetsitdone.blogspot.com/2021/12/my-list-of-goals-for-2022.html ) , but I really admire the format you have for yours! I especially like the Inbox Zero goal- maybe I’ll adopt something like that. I hate a cluttered inbox!

I especially like your goal of finishing your grandmother’s cross stitch. 🙂
