A DOZEN DINNERS
Here are a dozen dinners we had in our house recently. I hope you find inspiration for your own dinners!
- Split Pea Soup (I keep small chunks of previously cooked ham in the freezer which adds great flavor to this soup.)
- toasted and buttered English muffins topped with garlic powder and grated cheese
I had planned to bake homemade bread for this meal but didn’t get around to it. I happened to have a few English muffins so I improvised.
- Spicy Garlic Lime Chicken
- Homemade Mashed Potatoes
- candied carrots (yes, I let a few burn on the bottom of the pan!)
- side salad
- I used leftovers from the garlic lime chicken and mashed potatoes from the previous meal to create this “KFC Bowl”. I started with mashed potatoes, topped with canned corn, shredded chicken, gravy/sauce from chicken, cheddar cheese and French Fried Onions. This was SO good!
- black bean enchiladas
- rice
- chips and salsa
- homemade soup (cabbage, onion, carrots, red bell peppers, beans)
- grilled cheese sandwich
Thanksgiving Dinner
- Turkey
- mashed potatoes and gravy
- homemade cranberry sauce
- candied yams
- green bean casserole (my no-soup recipe)
- deviled eggs
- crusty French roll
- spice cake
- Grandma’s Pineapple Cream Pie
- homemade macaroni and cheese
- California style veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, carrots)
- side salad
- Greek style chicken and vegetables sheet pan dinner
- homemade coleslaw (red cabbage)
- toasted pita bread
- Mediterranean ground turkey, rice and vegetable skillet
- Fettuccine Alfredo (homemade sauce)
- steamed fresh broccoli
- crusty French roll
- Caprese chicken
- baked potato
- side salad
- spaghetti and meatballs
- side salad
- toasted cheese bread
