These days many of us might be called “homebodies” although maybe not by choice. On the other hand, there are those of us who are lifelong homebodies with a deep, abiding affinity for the “hygge” lifestyle. If there is someone like that on your holiday list, check out this Hygge Gift Guide for some cozy gift ideas.

Hygge Gift Guide:
10 Gift Ideas for the Homebody
Candles…
It’s hard to imagine a cozy, hygge scene without a candle or two burning. Candles make great gifts and are available in a wide variety of price points. This Paddywax candle comes in a very classy container that would look beautiful in any room.
For luxurious (and rather pricy) candles check out these brands:
But if those aren’t in your budget you still have some nice options:
One note, however: Be sure your recipient isn’t sensitive to fragrances. If that’s a possibility you can always opt for unscented beeswax candles or LED flameless candles.
Cozy Blanket…
When the weather turns chilly there is nothing better than curling up under a cozy blanket.
This one is on my wishlist.
Slippers…
You can’t totally embrace the hygge lifestyle with cold toes. Treat your favorite homebody to a new pair of slippers.
I recently ordered these for myself and really like them. I figure if I’m going to be home all the time at least my slippers can be cute!
Adult Coloring Book…
You can’t watch Netflix ALL the time, right? Change things up with some mindful coloring time.
Adult Coloring Book: 100 Flowers
Colored Pencil Set…
And of course, you’ll need some colored pencils for that coloring book.
Puzzle…
Another cozy winter activity is putting together a jigsaw puzzle. There are countless options but if your homebody is also a Francophile, this is a lovely choice.
Vinyl Album…
Does your gift recipient have a turntable? Listening to music in any fashion can add to a hygge atmosphere but there is something especially warm and cozy about vinyl. Not only is the sound warmer, but the act of carefully placing an album on a turntable just feels especially mindful.
Tea…
I think it’s almost a law that hot tea is part of the hygge life, right? If you know your gift recipient’s favorite tea that’s a safe choice. You could also splurge on something fancy like this:
Insulated Klean Kanteen…
In order to enjoy a cup of hot tea it needs to be HOT. At least, that’s what Captain Picard and I believe.
Keep tea hot for hours in an insulated Klean Kanteen. I make my tea in one of these and pour a little at a time into a china cup and saucer. Highly recommended! They also keep cold beverages cold.
Pretty Notebooks…
I don’t know if this is universally true but it seems most of the hygge-loving homebodies I know also love a good notebook. After all, we need a place to keep track of all the ideas we come up with while sipping countless cups of tea, right?
I hope those gave you some good ideas for the homebody in your life. Or maybe to put on your OWN Christmas wishlist!
