Last night we attended a fund raiser for two very smart, hard-working women running for office in our area. It was a real pleasure to hear them speak and and the whole event was a lot of fun.

We served a free meal of beans, cornbread and cobbler. I made one of the pots of beans and 5 gallons of iced tea. In fact, if you’re thirsty, bring a container to my house and I’ll give you some of the tea. 😉

Both candidates stayed nearly an hour following the speeches talking to people and getting acquainted with those they wish to serve. I go to church with Susan and have known her for years but I had only met Donna in person once before (of course, we’ve been Facebook friends for months now). They are both truly impressive candidates and I wish them well in the upcoming election.
