My challenge is going well and I’m discovering all sorts of stuff in my freezer. Today I put some boneless beef ribs in the crockpot along with 1/2 an onion and some homemade bbq sauce:
Beam Me Up BBQ Sauce
ketchup
mustard
liquid smoke
worchestershire sauce
garlic sauce
Pickapeppa sauce
a little Jim Beam
I had a meeting tonight right at dinner time so David used up the last of the potatoes (just starting to sprout) to make mashed potatoes and cooked some frozen corn. There was lettuce for a salad but it didn’t look like the guys had any with their meal. I did with mine when I ate after my meeting.
My one purchase today? A diet vanilla coke on my way to the meeting. Yeah, I know…
Today:
coke – $1.25
Total:
$11.26

It’s about time you ate some meat.

I’m liking your “buy nothing” challenge. I do this sometimes and we try to eat only what we have at the time…sometimes these are the best kinds of dinners. Hodge Podge!

Caleb, I hadn’t even realized the lack of meat! We like meat but we also like plenty of meals that don’t contain any (or not much). Chris has gone vegetarian off and on since he was five years old.

we had almost the same lunch today, pork ribs with a crazy homemade bbq sauce that was a little bit of everything thrown in. yumm!
