Since this blog is at least ostensibly about decluttering, I thought I should update you on a few more decluttering tasks I have completed.
—Yesterday I sorted through the two organizers we have in the kitchen for paper items. Isn’t it amazing how if you ignore something for awhile, you find you no longer need it? I was able to throw out quite a few items which always feels good.
—Our local recycling center doesn’t take glass so we have to take it to the nearest city, over an hour away. We have a pull-out recycling thing-y built into the kitchen cabinets that holds two medium sized wastebasket. This is where we store the glass until we make a trip to the city. Unfortunately we have forgotten to take the recycling the last couple of times we have gone so the containers were overflowing. I sorted the clear and colored glass into paper sacks with handles and now have them in our storage closet, ready to take with us next time. If we remember…
—The books leftover from the most recent book sale are still in the back of our Suburban. This evening I went out and looked through them, deciding which ones to donate to our church garage sale. My husband will be home tomorrow so I am hoping we can get these delivered to the church then. This will free up several boxes which I plan to set up in our storage closet to receive items I declutter as I go about my day.
—I am debating whether I should learn how to sell on e-bay or just give away our stuff. On the one hand, it would be nice to make a little money. But I also know that e-bay can be rather time consuming and I just don’t know if it is the best use of my time. For now, I am keeping the things I think might be worth selling, while disposing of lesser items.
These aren’t huge things but every little bit helps!
