Yikes! I’m really late getting this post out. David and I decided that today would be the day to put away the Christmas tree and decorations. Each year I say I’m going to sort through all the boxes, throw out things we no longer use or lights which no longer work but by the time I’m ready to put things away I seem to just be in a rush to get it done. But not today. We thought it would take a couple of hours but it was more like 4 or 5 hours. But it’s done! Every box is sorted. Things are carefully packed away instead of all “higgledy piggledy”. I even gave careful thought to what order I usually decorate and sorted things so I could take out one box at a time in order. I also put new labels on each box to reflect what each contains because the old labels no longer had much of anything to do with what was inside.
I’m pretty proud of us. And pretty darn tired! I really enjoy my house being decorated for the holidays but there comes a time when I’m ready to pack it all away. It’s awfully nice to see how big the family room looks without the tree, too. Now I’m in the mood for some early spring cleaning. I just hope the mood remains all week. Ha!
