Welcome to the fifth week of October’s LWD Grocery Haul series in which I share our weekly grocery purchases, including prices. I’m always curious to see what others purchase and what food prices are in different countries or regions. I hope you are finding this series interesting and helpful.
LWD GROCERY HAUL
October 2025 ~ Week Five
I didn’t need much this week but I did get a few holiday items which were on sale (Stove Top Stuffing and canned orange rolls). I ordered two boxes of turkey stuffing and one chicken, all of which were on sale. However, they were out of the regular chicken flavor. My shopper said they had a low sodium version, though, and I said that was fine. However, it turns out that variety wasn’t on sale. Oh, well…

Our weekly menu…
I had leftover pot roast with potatoes, carrots and onions in the freezer so I thawed and reheated that for a super easy Monday dinner.
We had our usual tacos on Tuesday.
I’m incorporating more low-cost dinners, such as split pea soup. I have some leftover chunks of ham in the freezer that I need to use up and that’s a great use for it.
We will be going trick-or-treating with our granddaughter Thursday night (yeah, our town is doing it Thursday since there is a high school football game on Friday). I know from previous experience that I’m not going to want to cook dinner after we get done so I’ve planned ahead for us to get takeout on our way home.
I never did make bbq chicken last week so I’ve moved it to this week. Same with the Sunday night French toast, eggs and sausage.
