Welcome to the third week of January’s LWD Grocery Haul series in which I share our weekly grocery purchases, including prices. I’m always curious to see what others purchase and what food prices are in different countries or regions. I hope you are finding this series interesting and helpful.

LWD GROCERY HAUL
January 2025 ~ Week Three
PRUETT’S (REGIONAL GROCERY STORE):
I didn’t need much this week as I’m trying to do a bit of a pantry/freezer challenge. I’ve got a lot items I want to use up. In addition to the things I needed for this week’s menu, I bought a few items because they were on sale and I was running low (canned chicken, dry bean soup mixture and canned corn).
- yellow onions (2 – 1.38 lb.) $1.37
- Ruffles Original Potato Chips (13 oz.) $6.59 (on sale)
- Best Choice 16 Bean soup mix (20 oz.) $2.59 (on sale)
- On The Border Tortilla Chips (13.2 oz.) $3.00 (on sale)

- Fritos Corn Chips (9.25 oz.) $5.59 (on sale)
Subtotal: $68.46 (plus tax and tip)
AZURE STANDARD:
This order of bulk items fills out my pantry of basics for the winter and probably beyond. I cannot find the rotini or Ditalini pasta locally and the other items were cheaper here than non-organic versions in my local store. I like to keep a good supply of several types of pasta on hand for soups and casseroles.
There’s a good chance cocoa prices will rise significantly if the new administration follows through on the promised tariffs so I thought it wise to add to my current stock. Can’t be without chocolate, right?!
- organic rolled oats (5 lb.) $8.48
- organic raisins (1 lb.) $4.51
- organic brown rice (5 lb.) $9.39
- organic rotini tri-color pasta (2.5 lb.) $10.91
- organic ditalini pasta (5 lb.) $14.12
- organic cocoa powder (1 lb.) $10.51
Subtotal: $57.92 (plus shipping fee)
Total:$126.38
