Welcome to the third week of September’s LWD Grocery Haul series in which I share our weekly grocery purchases, including prices. I’m always curious to see what others purchase and what food prices are in different countries or regions. I hope you are finding this series interesting and helpful.
LWD GROCERY HAUL
September 2025 ~ Week Three
This week’s grocery haul included 17 items which were on sale. I added several items to my pantry that were not on this week’s menu – tortillas, Rice a Roni, spaghetti, elbow macaroni, cranberry sauce, baked beans, pork and beans, mayonnaise, ketchup and Hershey bars. These were all on sale and I was either out of them or getting low.
The Hershey bars are so we can have s’mores as soon as it’s cool enough for an outdoor fire. I’m keeping a lookout for a sale on marshmallows and I already have a box of graham crackers. I want to be prepared!

Our weekly menu…
Last week we didn’t have BBQ chicken legs as planned so I moved that meal to this week. I was planning to have them on this Friday then remembered I had fresh corn on the cob that needs to be cooked. I decided to move the chicken legs to tonight and have the corn with them. I’ll postpone the potato salad until we have jambalaya, either tomorrow or Friday.
And that brings up a good point. While I’m a big proponent of weekly meal planning, I also believe it’s important to remain flexible. Just because you have a certain meal planned on a particular night doesn’t mean you can’t swap it for a different night that week. I purchase groceries once a week and make sure I have all the ingredients necessary for all of my planned meals. If I move Friday’s meal to Wednesday, that’s no problem because I have the makings of both of those meals on hand.
