Or perhaps I should say it’s my “blogoversary”. Five years ago today I wrote my first post on Tea With Dee. Actually, this blog had a different name originally. It was “Ponderings of a Packrat” and my plan was to “chronicle my attempts to sift through a lifetime of accumulated *stuff* and hopefully make some rational decisions about what to keep and what to pass on to someone else.” Ha! It soon became apparent that this blog had morphed into something else entirely. I do still have high hopes for some dramatic decluttering of my home. And I’d have to say that at least I’ve done a pretty good job of not adding to the sum total of items in my house. I’m not a big shopper and I seem to be getting rid of as much as we bring in so we’re maintaining a certain status quo. But the fact remains that if we are to attain our goal of living in much smaller digs in New Orleans someday, I still have a long way to go.
I’ve been thinking about this blog milestone the past few days, evaluating where Tea With Dee is now and where I would like to take it in the future. I’ve also been considering whether blogging might be distracting me from working on my book. This was going to be my year to really focus on my goals but I can’t honestly say I’ve accomplished much. I’m still pondering all this and if I have any earth-shattering revelations, I’ll be sure to let you know. In the meantime, I’m just going to feel good about having stuck with this for five years. 🙂
