Today is the third anniversary, or “blogiversary”, for Life With Dee! I can’t believe how fast the time has gone. Thank you so much to each of you who read Life With Dee. You mean the world to me.
As a small token of my appreciation I’m hosting a giveaway. As you know, I’ve been doing a monthly LWD Book Club since March of 2016. I read some of the selections on Kindle, read or listen to others on Scribd, borrow some from the library, buy some from our library book sale, purchase some from independent book stores, and purchase others from Amazon. I’m *trying* to get better about releasing books after I’ve read them and I figured out a way to make that emotionally easier for me – I’m going to give them to the winner of the 3rd Anniversary Giveaway.
Note: The giveaway has ended. Congratulations to the winner, Nikki!

LWD 3rd Anniversary Giveaway
I’ve got a stack of nine books that will definitely be included:
And I plan to add at least one or two more “surprise books” to the package. Enter here:
Again, thank you SO much for spending a bit of your time here with me. The past month has been extremely hectic and I know I’ve been a bit absent here. However, I’ve got lots of blog posts in the works for the coming weeks and some other cool things I’m excited to share with you. I hope you’ll stick around!
I mentioned Scribd above and it’s become one of my very favorite reading (and listening) resources. If you’d like to try it free for two months, click here.
*Note: Due to the cost of shipping books, this giveaway is only open to readers in the United States. But I’ll have something open to everyone before the end of the year!

I love your Facebook page and group! Just recently discovered it.
Deanna Piercy says
That makes me so happy to hear. ๐
Carrie Willard says
I had too many favorites to name!! The Secret Garden is one that comes to mind.
Deanna Piercy says
Ooh, I love that one, too. My third grade teacher read it to our class and I loved it so much I borrowed it from the library and read it myself. I then ended up with a copy of The Little Princess and loved it even more (it’s my number one favorite). As I read it I kept being reminded of The Secret Garden. After I finished it I realized it was the same author.
Patricia says
I’m in!
Deanna Piercy says
Great! Good luck. ๐
Tiffany Phares says
What a fun way to let go of your read books. My favorite book has always been The Hobbit. I grew up listening to it read to me at night until I was old enough to read it myself.
Deanna Piercy says
It’s really making it a lot easier to let them go. In fact, I plan to make this at least an annual event. I didn’t read The Hobbit as a child but read it to my kids.
Lori Moffit says
The book I have the most vivid memory of when I was a child is Anne of Green Gables. My middle name is Ann, and from that time forward, I wished that my parents had put an End to at the end of it! ?
Deanna Piercy says
That’s the book I wish like anything I had been encouraged to read as a child. I didn’t read it until I was an adult and it made me sad that I hadn’t read it earlier. I absolutely adore it! Have you read the others in the series? I read several in a row in my early 30s. I’d like to re-read them all.
Georgia says
Congrats on anniversary #3. I know there will me many more to follow.
Deanna Piercy says
Thank you so much! And you’re right…I have no plans to quit writing. ๐
Iris Dondlinger says
My favorite book as a child was “The Little House ” series by Laura Ingalls Wilder.
Deanna Piercy says
I love that series! I didn’t read them until I was an adult, though. Whenever we have an extra cold winter, especially if there is snow and ice, I like to read The Long Winter. It helps give me a bit of perspective.
How are you feeling?
Kim Puri says
The first book that I fell in love with as a child was Ramona Quimby, Age 8 by Beverly Cleary. It was refreshing to read about a little girl my age who was dealing with the same struggles that I was. I wasnโt much of a reader as a kid but I did read several Ramona books. She was my soul sister.
Deanna Piercy says
I haven’t read it. It came out in 1981 and I graduated high school in 1980. I might have to give it a read one of these days.
Kellie says
My favorite childhood book is The Neverending Story. The big ouroboros i have on my back is the Auryn ๐ its supposed to be printed in green and purple ink which makes it really interesting to look at too
Deanna Piercy says
Believe it or not, I’ve never read that. I should add it to my to-read list.
Melanie says
Happy blogaversary! What an exciting giveaway – I’m a huge book lover, so I would be thrilled to win this! Thanks for the chance. ๐

Roz says
This is one of the few blogs I still read regularly. Still love it! Congrats on 3 years!
Deanna Piercy says
Thanks, Roz! I don’t read as many as I used to pre-Facebook days. I think that’s the case for many people. I hope you are feeling better.
Monica says
I would love a new stack of books!! I sold a lot of my books three years ago when I had to move, and a new stack for my bookshelf would be wonderful! Thanks for three great years…
Deanna Piercy says
The thought of moving and having to get rid of books may very well keep me in a house that is too big for us now. Ha!
John Smith says
“What was your favorite book as a child?” “Alice In Wonderland.”
Deanna Piercy says
I’ve seen the movie but never read the book. I should do that. ๐
Kathy Sall says
I absolutely LOVE Louisa May Alcott, she was (and still is) my favorite Author when I was a child. I still love all her adventures in her books. I have to say my favorite book ever growing up and to this day is “Little Women!” I loved all the stories of her childhood with her family and what they all went through during the time period. I even shared my book collection with my own children when they were growing up! Although sad to say, they didn’t enjoy them as much as I do ๐
Deanna Piercy says
I love her books, too!
Vera Vickrey says
Oh, I’m so happy to belong to your groups !! They’re Wonderful !!
I’d love to win these books…..I’d enjoy them soooo much !!
Thanks, Vera
Deanna Piercy says
That’s so sweet, Vera. It makes me so happy to hear that people enjoy them. Good luck in the giveaway!
Helen says
I loved the Anne of Green Gables books. They gave me a kinder world to live in. And in terms of letting go of my own books, I’ve started giving some as Christmas gifts. But only to friends who love reading too.
Deanna Piercy says
That’s a good idea! It’s so much easier to give away a book if it’s going to a good home. ๐
Thomas Mitchell says
My fav was susan coopers the dark is rising series.
Deanna Piercy says
I’m not familiar with that one. I’ll have to take a look.

In high school we read a book called Rebecca I think it was. That has always stood out to me.
Deanna Piercy says
You won the giveaway! I’ve send you an email requesting your mailing address. Congratulations!
Are you referring to Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier? I have a copy and have started it a couple of times. I’m not sure why I never finished as it was quite interesting. I need to pull it out and try again.
Jacob Bray says
My favorite book was A Wrinkle In Time or Mr. Poppers Penguins.
Deanna Piercy says
I read Mr. Popper’s Penguins to my kids when they were early elementary school age. My daughter especially loved it and penguins became her favorite animal. She’s now in her early 30s and still collects them. ๐
Tracy Shafer says
The Westing Game! I still re read it from time to time.
Deanna Piercy says
