This month’s LWD Book Club selection is a book I wish I had read as a child but didn’t read until my early 30s. I immediately fell in love with Anne and was filled with regret that I hadn’t found her as a child. I know we would have been “bosom friends”.

LWD SEPTEMBER BOOK CLUB SELECTION
Anne of Green Gables
A scrawny 13-year-old, all carrot-colored pigtails and outrageous chatter, Anne seems fated to go nowhere but back to the orphanage. Her new family, after all, ordered a boy and she was delivered by mistake. But by turning adversity to advantage with lots of spunk, Anne of Green Gables has enchanted four generations of children and their elders since the worlds most widely read Canadian novel was first published in Boston in 1908.
What’s better than curling up with a good book and a delicious cup of tea? And when the tea is named “Reading Nook“? Perfection.

Excellent choice! I’ve read the whole series, and really enjoyed it.
Deanna Piercy says
I know I read several back in the late 90s but I’m not sure I finished the entire series. I think that’s going to be one of my winter projects.
