As you’ve likely seen, I’ve started several new monthly series for LWD – poet, artist, and composer of the month. I’ve got one more – Classic Film of the Month. Each month I’ll recommend a classic film and for January I’ve chosen “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”. It’s a favorite of mine but it’s been a few years since I’ve watched it. Time to enjoy it again!

Breakfast at Tiffany’s
I adore Audrey Hepburn and I don’t think there is any more iconic role for her than that of Holly Golightly. The film has a light, rom-com feel to it and no one can deny the glamour. But if you dig a little deeper, there’s much more to the story:

But any way you choose to look at it, who can deny the appeal of this classic 1961 film? At the time I’m writing this it doesn’t appear to be streaming free on any of the major streaming services although you can rent it for 3 or 4 dollars. However, if you are a fan and anticipate watching it repeatedly I think it’s one worth owning. You can buy it alone:

Breakfast at Tiffany’s was based upon a Truman Capote novel by the same name. Believe it or not, I’ve yet to read it. I do think this is something I should remedy.
