It’s a brand new year and what better way to kick things off here at Life With Dee than with a menu? Because we are all about food around here, right? This weekly feature will continue in 2018. In addition, I have set myself a goal of sharing a recipe every Wednesday. Some of these will be updated recipes from my old Dee’s Kitchen blog and some will be brand new. I am continuing to experiment with my Instant Pot so you can expect to see more recipes for the I.P. I’m also planning to organize the recipes to make it easier to locate what you’re looking for. And I just might get brave enough to do some recipe videos. Maybe. But for now, let’s take a look at our menu for the first week of 2018.

Happy birthday to your Dad!
My Nan (Dad’s Mother) turns 90 on January 8th. She thinks Dad and one of my brothers are taking her out for an early birthday meal on Saturday. Well, they are. But she doesn’t know about those of us who will already be there to meet them and have dinner with them. A few other family members and I are traveling to Wales to celebrate with her. I’m spending most of Friday and next Monday on trains so I can be there to celebrate her birthday on Saturday and Sunday (I’m not sure what’s planned for Sunday, but I know my Dad has arranged something… He couldn’t tell me, because my Nan was within earshot, and she doesn’t even know I’ll be in Wales… She thinks she’ll just get a phonecall from me on her birthday, like she’s had every year since I moved down here). I know it’s OK to mention it on here, since it won’t get back to her.

Thank you for the birthday wishes for my dad. And how exciting about your Nan! Ninety is quite a big deal. I hope the celebration goes really well. Have fun!
