Monday:
We have a gift certificate for our favorite local Italian restaurant and our local theater is playing the old 1944 movie “Double Indemnity” starring Barbara Stanwyck and Fred MacMurray. Sounds like a perfect date night. I think we’ll do a little stargazing at home afterwards.
Tuesday:
- burgers on the grill
- corn on the cob
- potato salad
- fresh local peaches
Wednesday:
I am going to be volunteering at the local soup kitchen and probably won’t be home until after 7:30. Crockpot to the rescue!
- roast with potatoes, onions and carrots
- tossed green salad with sliced strawberries, blueberries and poppyseed dressing
Thursday:
I have to take the car to the dealership in Ardmore (over an hour away) to be serviced and have the speaker stereo fixed. I have a few other things to take care of while I am there. It will probably take most of the day so an easy meal will be in order.
- stroganoff (from leftover roast)
- noodles
- salad
- green beans
Friday:
I will serve this meal in courses. I may even drag out the good china and silver, and open a nice bottle of wine. It’s going to be a busy week and we will likely be ready for a quiet evening.
- tossed green salad
- spaghetti with homemade marinara
- garlic bread
- peach cobbler
Saturday and Sunday:
We leave Sunday evening for a short trip to Idaho to visit David’s mother. We will be busy getting ready so we will keep meals easy – maybe go out or pick up pizza.

There won’t be a menu next week because we will be out of town until Thursday.

What’s on your menu this week?
Victoria Zigler says
Sounds like you have a busy and fun week ahead.
I didn't bother figuring out a menu for this week. I'm not great at keeping to them anyway, and this will be a busy week for us too, since we have family visiting for the weekend, and got behind on a few things because of those meetings and the things I needed to do to prepare for them, so I need to get caught up on things before Friday evening.
All I know for sure about this week is that until Friday we're having whatever we've got that we can make quickly and feel like eating, on Saturday we're eating out with my Mam and one of my brothers, and on Sunday we're having a picnic with them (the plan is for a picnic on the beach, weather permitting, but it will be a picnic in my living room if it's too wet to be on the beach).

Oh, I do hope your weather cooperates. A picnic on the beach sounds lovely. Enjoy your family visit!
Victoria Zigler says
The weather didn't co-operate… It's been nice since though. *sigh*
Deanna says
Aw, too bad you didn't get your picnic. Maybe another time.
