I’m not sure if I’m tempting fate here but it looks as though we each only have one meeting this week AND they are on the same night. We may actually be able to eat at home all week. Wow!
Dee’s Menu
Monday
This is the day we each have a meeting. Mine is at 5:15 and David’s is at 6. Looks like a crockpot meal is in order so we can each eat on our own schedule.
- chicken tenders in sweet and sour sauce (crockpot)
- rice (cooked in rice cooker which will keep warm)
- salad
Tuesday
- burgers on homemade Hawaiian buns
- topped with sliced pineapple and homemade coleslaw
- French fries
Wednesday
Thursday
I’ve invited my parents over for dinner. This is one of my mom’s favorite meals and I haven’t made it in quite awhile.
- Chinese Chicken Salad
- candied carrots
- French bread
- leftover Oatmeal Cake
Friday
I’m going to cook a crockpot full of spaghetti sauce and freeze the extra for future meals.
- spaghetti and meat sauce
- salad
- garlic bread
Saturday
Sunday
We’ll eat at our favorite Mexican restaurant after church and save half for dinner.

What’s on your menu this week?

Last night (Monday night) I had a veggie burger with fries and salad.
Today (Tuesday) I should have had a roleplaying session, but that got cancelled since my Dad can’t make it, and he’s the current GM (you can’t have a game without the Games Master). Instead, I have someone possibly coming with a table. However, it’s only “possibly” because whether they can bring it today depends on the weather… It was beautiful all last week, but it started getting wet yesterday afternoon… Of course! Anyway, for dinner tonight I’m having some roast potatoes with mixed vegetables that I have left from when I made that meal recently.
Tomorrow (Wednesday) I’m planning to have cheesy fries, since it’s something simple (in case the table doesn’t make it here today).
After that, it will depend on whether the table is here or not. If it is, then it won’t matter if whatever I have for dinner requires a bit more prep time, or takes longer to cook. If it isn’t here, I’ll need to keep my meals quick and simple, so that I’m not trying to sort dinner while we have visitors (they’ll be staying for a cup of tea, but aren’t planning to eat with us). So, i’m not planning the second half of my week until I know how things stand with the table.
How do you make your cheesy fries? I’ve been meaning to ask.
I don’t do anything fancy. I just smother fresh from the oven fries with grated cheese (sometimes just cheddar, other times a mixture of cheeses; depends what I’ve got in the fridge). I do it immediately so it melts over them. Sometimes I just have them like that, other times I also pour some vegetable gravy over them… Depends how I feel at the time.
