We have been having such lovely fall weather. Yesterday it was in the low 80s and I spent a couple of hours lying in the sun listening to music. Can it stay this way forever, please? Unfortunately…no. Later this week I see a couple of chilly days in the forecast and while that doesn’t thrill me, it does seem fitting for the big pot of chili I plan to make. Let’s see what else is on this week’s menu.
Dee’s Menu
Monday
- Vegan Jambalaya
- French bread
- coleslaw
Tuesday
David has a doctor appointment in the city early Wednesday morning. As soon as he gets off work we will head to the city, have dinner somewhere and spend the night.
Wednesday
- pork chops
- cooked cabbage
- scalloped potatoes
- peas
Thursday
- leftovers
- baked apples
Friday
We are attending a fundraising dinner.
Saturday
- baked potatoes
- homemade chili
Sunday
Our church is hosting a fall festival after morning worship and there will be a chili cook-off. I plan to make a big pot of chili Saturday, serve a bit over baked potatoes and then take the rest to church.

Rather late getting in here this week. Not to mention the other posts I need to catch up on reading. But never mind.
Anyway, great menu. I love a baked potato with my chilli too.
Here’s my menu, even though we’re already half way done with the week…
Monday: chips (fries) and sweet & sour sauce.
Tuesday: vegetable stir fry.
Wednesday & Thursday: “cheese” and potato pie with peas.
Friday: banana blossom burgers with sweet potato fries.
Saturday & Sunday: banana blossom curry with rice.

I’ve never heard of banana blossoms. Must go Google that!

If it helps, I hadn’t until earlier this year. Haha! This will be my first time tasting and attempting to cook with it. I’ll let you know in next week’s post how it went.
