Monday:
I made a LOT of potato salad for our “Family Dinner and Game Night” last night and have plenty of leftovers. It’s been a busy day and David has a firefighter meeting so I’m keeping it simple tonight.
- turkey sandwiches with cranberry sauce on French bread
- homemade potato salad
- grapes
Tuesday:
David will be out of town. I’ve got zucchini, yellow squash, onions, carrots, red potatoes…I think I’ll make soup.
- fresh vegetable soup
Wednesday:
My piano lessons are now going to be on Wednesday afternoons with a 2.5 hour break before choir rehearsal. My plan is to use that time in town to write, either at the library or another location with free wi-fi. I’ll then meet David for dinner at Rib Crib. We have live music there and this week someone from the newspaper is going to be there to take photos for a feature they are doing on our business, Happyland Music Alliance.
Thursday:
David has an Emergency Medical Responder refresher course this night and will then meet me at Papa Gjorgjo’s for a late dinner and to catch the last part of the live music show we are hosting there.
Friday:
We are attending a Pin Up Night party (vintage attire) which will be catered by Fat Boys BBQ.
Saturday:
I’m attending an Amish quilt auction and craft festival with my mom, daughter and niece and then have the first meeting of a local book club I’ve joined which will be at 5 p.m. I think I’ll throw something in the crockpot in the morning – probably a roast.
Sunday:
This will be our 4th weekly “Family Dinner and Game Night”. Someone suggested themes so this week we are going to play Trivial Pursuit and have pizza and pie for dinner. We’ll get takeout for the pizza and I’ll bake a couple of pies. I’ve got some cherry pie filling in the pantry so I’ll do that for one of them and then maybe coconut cream for the other.

As I look over this menu I realize I won’t be cooking much this week. Oh, well. Perhaps next week will be a little less busy. Okay, quit laughing. I can dream, can’t I?
