It was a rather quiet Christmas day for us. Chris was with Kadi at her mom’s house in the city. Lisa and Justin took advantage of a little window of opportunity before the roads got bad and came over for waffles, mimosas and a quick game and then made it back home just as the sleet started. My parents wisely opted to stay off the roads. David and I spent the remainder of the day resting and watching movies, starting with one of our favorites, “A Christmas Story”:
David built a fire:
And we watched the snow fall:
I took another picture of the snow later but somehow lost it (our internet has been spotty). I had cooked a ham the other day and had made two pans of homemade dressing for my cousins yesterday so I had leftovers of that, as well as homemade cranberry sauce. I made a small casserole dish of homemade macaroni and cheese. We also had a couple of things my mom had sent home with us last night so with minimal cooking we had quite a little feast. Despite being different from our normal Christmas day, it was actually quite nice and a much-needed rest for us after a very busy few days.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnight!
