Rock and Bowl…

March 26, 2008 By Deanna Piercy 5 Comments

On Tuesday nights from 10 to midnight, our local bowling alley turns off the lights, turns up the rock music and sells beer for 25 cents a cup. As you might imagine, this is quite popular with the college students. It’s also become one of our favorite things to do. Our friends, Gary and Melissa, love to join us for some rockin’ and bowlin’ and we are trying to make this a regular part of our schedule. Hey, it’s better than sitting on the couch getting old.

Last night Melissa noticed a guy in what looked sort of like a bright orange bowling shirt, although David said he thought it was really a soccer jersey. Anyway, she said we need bowling shirts, too. We came up with our team name…”Damn, we’re good!”, and I think we’ll go with bright blue for the shirts. David thinks we need aliases instead of our own names on the shirts. (Yeah, like that will really make us inconspicuous.) Melissa said she wants to be Stella. I suggested the name Stanley for her husband, Gary. David and I need names. Any suggestions?

There is another couple who have been wanting to join us for our bowling nights but Doug’s a CPA so they will have to wait until things slow down after tax season. Wait until they find out we are going to get shirts and everything. I’ve also decided I need my own bowling shoes since I think they just have one pair of size 7 1/2 and the lining in the back of one shoe is all rough and irritates my foot. I’m sure that is the sole reason I don’t bowl well.

Stay tuned for the further adventures of “Damn, we’re good!” as we show off our fine bowling skills at the Ada Bowling Center on Tuesday nights. There might even be photos at some point.

    What about:

Bud & Lou (Abbott & Costello)
    Ken & Barbie
    Ben & Jerry (Jeri?!)
    Bonnie & Clyde
Dick & Jane (you could even give your bowling buddies names – Sally, Puff, Spot, Jack, Tim!)

This site’s got a great list of famous pairs: http://www.indopedia.org/List_of_famous_pairs.html

    Sounds like FUN!
