I signed up for and attended my first yoga class last night. I was initially pleased to note that I fell approximately in the middle in terms of weight and that there were no men. Until the very last moment before class started and in walked, not only a man, but someone I know. Damn. (Just practicing some written cussing for my book.) I was hoping for anonymity. Still, I was very pleasantly surprised to discover that I was one of the most flexible in the class and didn’t have any trouble with the poses.
I like the teacher, in part because she’s older and chubbier than I am. On the other hand, she immediately dispelled any notions we might have that by the end of this 10 week set of classes we will have lost 50 pounds and gained 3 inches in height. Again, damn. (How am I doing with the cussing?)

You’re doing a damn fine job with that cussing thing! How about me?

It’s a good start, LOL!
I don’t think you are chubby either.
I’m interested to know how you like yoga.

Whoa! You actually cussed?? I’m shocked. I’m – I – I – I am left speechless.
Hope the yoga goes well. 🙂

Julie, I think you are doing damn fine, too.
Stephanie, I really enjoyed the yoga and you are my new best friend for that “not chubby” comment.
Jaci, have you recovered from the shock yet? I’m just glad my parents don’t read my blog.
Patty says
yoga is fun, good for the muscles

What about your “dang” kids!? You are being a “stinkin'” bad influence! Lisa and I are innocents!
Deanna Piercy says
Chris, I read your blog (not to mention you live here). Innocent? I think not.
